Responsibilities
- Analyze complex, large-scale datasets (structured and unstructured) to provide business insights and actionable recommendations.
- Design and optimize queries for performance across SQL-based data platforms (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
- Build dashboards, reports, and data pipelines to track business metrics and support decision-making.
- Work cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and operations teams to define data needs and deliver insights.
- Lead statistical analysis and experiments (e.g., A/B testing, hypothesis testing, PCA, time series analysis) to validate business strategies.
- Support model deployment and performance monitoring, in collaboration with ML engineers where needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering).
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, including performance tuning and query optimization.
- Solid programming skills in Python or R, with experience in Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, or similar.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or R Shiny).
- Strong grasp of statistics, data modeling, and hypothesis testing.
- Clear and effective communication skills in English (both written and verbal), especially for remote, async work.
- Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and document databases (MongoDB, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Nice to have
- Experience with NLP, OCR, or computer vision use cases.
- Exposure to AWS SageMaker, Docker, or other ML deployment tools.
- Familiarity with agile development, JIRA, Git, and remote collaboration tools.
- Business domain experience in finance, e-commerce, or gaming analytics.
